CROSSING LIMITS
intervetion in public/private space, Sofia 2011

In his video work “crossing limits” Michailov projects himself on himself on himself and so forth. He thereby addresses the term “boundless” which on the one hand signifies the dissolution of any border but on the other hand cannot be thought without the same.  If the condition of space, time and quantum number were boundless and unfolding eternally, there would be no space or number along time. If a single condition would be endless in an absolute sense it would be absurd to assume the existence of any other condition next to it.
“Crossing limits” may well be categorized to overcome earthly limits. Therefore the sound of the video also symbolically utilizes the traffic light for blind people, which enables them to cross a street. Michailov also uses an unlimited number of screens in a sense of an unlimited edition in order to show his work “unlimited” to a wider public, regardless if these screens constitute advertising projection surfaces, tv-sets in an electric shop or tv-sets that are put on top of each other to build a wall.
